Job Summary

As the Valley Brook Pool Manager, your primary responsibility is to schedule and supervise a staff of between 2 to 6 lifeguards while maintaining a safe swimming environment by enforcing all Club rules and regulations.  The Pool Manager will also supervise the snack bar operation, club events/sports and report directly to American Pool.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the pool and snack bar operation
  • Maintain a safe and clean facility
  • Complete and enter staff schedules
  • Conduct staff evaluations and assist with orientation
  • Manage staff (keep everyone busy!)
  • Provide a positive work and member environment
  • Record-keeping
  • Responsible for some mechanical troubleshooting and chemical maintenance with assistance from an American Pool Supervisor

Minimum Job Requirements:

Current certification in the following:

  • Lifeguard: American Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid
  • American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer

The above certifications are available through the Red Cross at multiple locations.  See  Valley Brook will provide reimbursement if hired as Manager.

Note: an American Pool employed Supervisor will be responsible for the Pesticide and other Chemical licenses required in Allegheny County.  These are not needed for this position.
